Yesterday, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 36, dubbed the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, by a vote of 237 to 189. The bill bans most abortions after 20 weeks gestation and would penalize abortion providers who violate this limit.
Furthermore, according to Fox News, “South Carolina GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham has companion legislation that could be introduced as early as Tuesday, a congressional source told Fox News.”
The original sponsor of the House bill, Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ), is calling for a straight up-and-down vote on the legislation in the Senate.
