This week, the President and Republican lawmakers are expected to begin unveiling a new plan for tax reform, The Hill reports:
“Unveiling the framework will be a big step for the so-called ‘Big Six,’ who are negotiating the deal, Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), House Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady (R-Texas), Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Senate Finance Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and National Economic Council Director Gary Cohn.”
The President will begin ramping up messaging and press attention for the oncoming debate over tax policy this Wednesday at a rally in Indiana. Meanwhile Congressional Republicans and administration officials will continue to flesh out most of the particulars. For instance, lowering the corporate tax rate is a goal many Republicans share, but just how much to cut is yet to be determined.
