Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and his fellow Democrats are trying everything (except originality) to stop Donald Trump and the Republican held Congress from repealing and replacing Obamacare.
Schumer held a press conference on Wednesday, stealing from Trump’s signature phrase, Schumer said “The Republican plan to cut health care wouldn’t make America great again, it would make America sick again…”
In response, Trump tweeted that Schumer was the “head clown” of the Democrats, and that Schumer was being a “typical politician” by blaming others, rather than attempting to fix the problem. Trump further claimed that Obamacare was “a lie from the beginning”, likely in reference to the early claims by Democrats that Americans would be able to keep their existing health care plans and doctors. Many Americans might agree, with premiums rising an average of 25% across the country in the new year.

Still, Schumer and other Hill Democrats met with President Obama on Wednesday to show their support for Obamacare and discuss and strategize how to stop the coming Republican attempts to repeal the law. Schumer went on to claim that the Senate Democrats would not help any attempts by Republicans to replace Obamacare.
The President-elect concluded by saying “It is time for Republicans & Democrats to get together and come up with a healthcare plan that really works – much less expensive & FAR BETTER.”
