Obama Rides Wave to SOTU

With his annual State of the Union Address set for tomorrow night, President Obama is riding an unexpected wave of approval in the polls which only serves to buoy his political capital ahead of the first address to a Congress in majority opposition.

According to the latest WashPo-ABC poll, Obama’s overall approval rating has climbed back to 50%, the highest approval he has enjoyed since the Spring of 2013.

Pollsters point to a rise in voter and consumer confidence after the recent drop in gasoline prices coupled with the recent highs in the stock market which have the U.S. leading the way among global powers in renewed economic fervor.

These realities have analysts predicting that the president will echo his call for free community college tuition and renewed attack on the Republican push for the Keystone Pipeline, which may include a new promise to veto the bill when it comes out of the Senate.
