Gillibrand: Abolishing ICE Is #1 Democrat Priority

At an event in New York City, the state’s junior senator Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand said that if Democrats win the 2018 midterms this fall, their absolute first, number one, top-of-the-list priority will be . . . abolishing ICE.

Really. That’s Democrats’ very first priority, to abolish U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“So, when we flip the House and flip the Senate,” Gillibrand said, “I think the first thing we should do is deal with the children who are being separated from their families at the border. We should—I think we should get rid of ICE. We should separate out two missions and do the anti-terrorism mission, the national security mission, and then on the other side make sure you’re looking at immigration as a humanitarian issue.”

One wonders what Democrats could possibly be thinking: Silly ICE, Americans don’t need a law enforcement arm that prosecutes illegal border crossings and tracks down sex-trafficking criminals. That’s not a humanitarian issue!

Gillibrand is considered a top option to take on President Trump in 2020.
