“California became a ‘sanctuary state’ Monday, as a bill that Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown signed into law in October officially took effect,” according to Fox News.
California is the first state to pass such legislation.
“The law bars police in the nation’s most populous state from asking people about their immigration status or participating in federal immigration enforcement activities in most cases.”
That explains a recent prank freeway sign in the state, the sign reading in part: “Felons, Illegals and MS13 Welcome! Democrats need the Votes!”
OMG! Look at this sign someone put up on the 15 Freeway between LA and Las Vegas!
It reads :
Welcome to California. Official Sanctuary State.
Felons, Illegals and MS13 Welcome
Democrats need the Votes! #NewYearsDay pic.twitter.com/pc5xRnqZIB— Kambree Kawahine Koa (@KamVTV) January 1, 2018
But perhaps it is not such a laughing matter, as the rise of MS-13 in the United States will now be only harder to combat—and in a state where the gang already has deep roots.
