After speaking with Chinese President Xi Jinping earlier today, President Trump stated that additional sanctions would be placed on the North Korean regime:
Just spoke to President XI JINPING of China concerning the provocative actions of North Korea. Additional major sanctions will be imposed on North Korea today. This situation will be handled!

Today, North Korea announced that its “breakthrough” missile could reach the continental United States. In September, Trump re-added the regime to the list of countries engage in state-sponsored terrorism. North Korea responded with its first missile test later that month.
The president also last night reiterated the need for Congress, particularly its Democratic members who do not seem interested in working, to get its act together:
After North Korea missile launch, it’s more important than ever to fund our gov’t & military! Dems shouldn’t hold troop funding hostage for amnesty & illegal immigration. I ran on stopping illegal immigration and won big. They can’t now threaten a shutdown to get their demands.
