Trump Leads Texans in Texas

Just days after two Florida polls showed Donald Trump leading favorite sons Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio in their home state, a new poll extends that trend to Texas.

According to a Gravis Marketing poll, Trump is besting the entire GOP field among Texas voters with 24%, which reflects his numbers nationally.

That lead compares to a second place spot for Sen. Ted Cruz at 16% with former Texas Gov. Rick Perry with a paltry 4%.

Before Trump entered the race, Cruz led the field among Lone Star voters at 20% with Perry following close behind with 12 points.

Pulling a third place spot is Ben Carson 12% followed by Jeb Bush at 9% despite his family’s long political history in Texas.

Equally interesting is that Rand Paul, also originally from Texas, pulled no response at all on the poll despite the former popularity of his father, former Texas Congressman Ron Paul.
