A fifth undercover Planned Parenthood video in the series released by the Center for Medical Progress was unveiled this week adding steam to the debate over federal funding for the organization.
Among the revelations in the footage are comments by Melissa Farrell, the organization’s Director of Research for the Gulf Coast, in which she details a willingness to “alter” the “process” to obtain “intact fetal cadavers” as a part of “diversification of the revenue stream.”
Federal law requires: “No alteration of the timing, method, or procedures used to terminate the pregnancy was made solely for the purposes of obtaining the tissue.”
The installment is the latest in what may be a total of a dozen videos, each with more escalated controversy than the last.
Though Planned Parenthood dodged a bullet in the failed attempt by Senate Republicans to immediately defund the organization, a similar effort in the House to end more than $500 million in taxpayer dollars is more likely to pass in the coming weeks.
