The Inspector General for the Social Security Administration revealed a bombshell report about agency practices which came as yet another blow to the beleaguered Obama administration, Fox News reported.
According to the IG’s report, during the period between 2008 and 2013, the SSA spent at least $323 million in attempts to recover $128 million in improper benefit payments.
Worse, the report highlighted that the agency was successful in recovering just over $100 million of those funds.
In sum, the SSA burned more than $200 million in taxpayer funds attempting to correct mismanaged taxpayer dollars. The revelation comes just one month after it was revealed the IRS lost $50 million in illegal tax refunds after its website was hacked.
