Netanyahu Hits Grand Slam in Address to Congress

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress on Tuesday was arguably one of most the important addresses in his political career. It amounts to his own State of the Union – or the World – Address.

Interrupted repeatedly with thunderous applause from the gallery, Netanyahu offered a respectful yet very direct challenge to the Obama administration’s narrative that ongoing negotiations with Iran over nuclear weapons can be successful.

He warned that giving concessions to Iran, as are offered in the current version of negotiations with U.S., would be disastrous because they leave in place Iran’s current nuclear capabilities.

Citing Iran’s repeatedly violations of previous sanctions and inspections, Netanyahu warned that Israel will stand along if it must and that his people will never again be passive in the face of the threat of annihilation.
