Only 72 hours after the crushing defeat of the Democrats by the Republican Party in which its majority in the U.S. House was expanded to a margin of control not seen since 1927, calls for a change in leadership are being tossed around.
Current House Speaker John Boehner has been continually criticized for lack of leadership on key issues from opponents in his own party who claim he has either been too cozy with Barack Obama or altogether unwilling to mount an effort to oppose the Obama agenda, as reported on Newsmax TV:
Among those critics is Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) who has given a hint of a possible direct challenge to Boehner for Speaker of the House.
In an interview with Newsmax TV, Gohmert detailed, “I hadn’t planned on it. I’m running for the RSC chair. But it’s always good when you have choices.”
