Biden’s Gaffe Machine Is Busy

Long infamous for less-than-restrained rhetorical flourishes and self-control, Vice President Joe Biden has issued not one but two separate apologies over the weekend for gaffes and faux pas that have become part of his modus operandi, reports Fox News.

On Sunday, Biden called Crown Prince of Abu Dabi to clarify previous comments that he insisted should not have been taken to imply Abu Dabi supports terrorism.

Biden commented while visiting Harvard University last week:

“The Turks … the Saudis, the Emirates, etc. What were they doing? They were so determined to take down (Syrian President Bashar) Assad and essentially have a proxy Sunni-Shia war… They poured hundreds of millions of dollars and thousands of tons of weapons into anyone who would fight against Assad — except that the people who were being supplied were al Nusra and Al Qaeda and the extremist elements of jihadis coming from other parts of the world.”

Having already apologized to the Turks the previous day for similar reasons, Biden has once again given voters reason to question whether his budding candidacy for the Democrat presidential nomination is one to be taken seriously.
