2016 GOP Presidential frontrunner Donald Trump backed legendary baseball player Pete Rose’s hall of fame bid yesterday as the former star was yet again denied a spot.
According to The Hill:
“Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Monday expressed irritation with Major League Baseball for not rescinding its ban on Pete Rose joining the Hall of Fame.
Can’t believe Major League Baseball just rejected @PeteRose_14 for the Hall of Fame. He’s paid the price. So ridiculous – let him in!” Trump tweeted Monday evening.
MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred announced in a report earlier in the day that he had rejected Rose’s request for reinstatement and would uphold a lifetime ban imposed in 1989.”
