Rick Perry has become the first Republican candidate to drop out of the race for the presidential nomination, as had been predicted by many.
Governor Perry couldn’t resist a parting shot at frontrunner Donald Trump, whose success so far in the race clearly got under Perry’s skin.
On his Facebook page, he briefly expressed his conservative philosophy in a post that appeared to include veiled references to Trump. Perry wrote:
The conservative movement has always been about principles, not personalities. Our nominee should embody those principles. He – or she – must make the case for the cause of conservatism more than the cause of their own celebrity.
