A federal judge ruled this week that Republican Speaker John Boehner can sue President Obama for his implementation of Obamacare, paving the way for renewed action against the president’s signature accomplishment.
Judge Rosemary Collier argued in her decision that the House has legal standing to take the White House to court for what it has criticized as “unilateral changes” to the regulations after it had been signed into law.
The White House delayed the employer’s mandate for insurance provisions and moved payments to insurers in exchange for lowering co-payments.
House leaders have argued that the president overstepped his constitutional authority by bypassing Congress on the changes.
