Bernie Sanders continues to steamroll his way from fringe “also-ran” to mainstream contender after having officially overtaken Hillary Clinton in the latest New Hampshire polls.
Now, according to additional polls, Sanders appears to be closing in on Hillary in Iowa as well as he has pulled within single digits of her lead.
The Bloomberg/Des Moines Register poll showed that among likely Democrat caucusers, Hillary only commands 37% support.
Sanders, however, has climbed from single digit support earlier in the year to a surging 30% followed by Biden’s 14%.
Similar to events in New Hampshire, the numbers mark the first time in the campaign in which Hillary has fallen below the 50% mark.
Just 90 days ago, Hillary commanded a 57% lead to Sanders’ paltry 16% and Biden’s 8%.
