Bob Woodward: Clinton Email Scandal “Reminds Me of the Nixon Tapes”

This morning, Bob Woodward told MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough the following about the Clinton email server scandal:

“It, in a way, reminds me of the Nixon tapes. Thousands of hours of secretly recorded conversations that Nixon thought were exclusively his, that they were not going to get out. Hillary Clinton initially took that position: I’m not turning this over. There’s going to be no cooperation.”

Woodward explained that while Clinton may have erased the emails from her server, they were sent or received by someone else, “so you’ve got a massive amount of data” to go through.

“But,” he continued. “This is — this has to go on a long, long time. And the answers are probably not going to be pretty.”

Woodward also said that he would love the opportunity to read the 60,000 emails originally contained on the server, because it would be a fascinating character study into who Hillary Clinton really is.

“Look at those 60,000 e-mails,” he said. “And you’re going to get some answers.” Any guesses as to what he would learn?
