Again: Federal Government Hacked A Second Time

The federal government is under fire once again for failing to prop up security around its networks as news of yet another massive breach was revealed.

The Obama administration admitted to a second, larger instance of hacking in which at least 21 million U.S. citizens’ social security numbers were exposed within an agency background check database.

The previous breach of the Office of Personnel Management reported just weeks ago, in which detailed data on at least 4 million federal employees were exposed, was considered the largest in history.

With this new breach five times in size and perhaps worse in scope, the administration is under renewed fire from Congress with some leaders calling for the resignation of key officials.
