As previously speculated, turnout among Republican voters in the Nov. 4th midterm elections could be the edge the GOP needs to ultimately retake control of the U.S. Senate.
To wit, the latest NBC/WSJ poll was released showing 54-44 percent advantage for Republicans among voters who say they are ‘highly interested’ in the upcoming midterms.
Democrat pollster Peter Hart explained, “Off-year elections are about intensity, which becomes a question of which set of voters cares most. In the opening lap of the general election, the GOP is winning.”
Equally as critical to turnout is how much importance voters place on the upcoming elections. A full 75% of Republicans consider the midterms important compared to a mere 57% of Democrats.
