Economist Predicts Republican Landslide Against Hillary In November

A renowned economist and former aide to President Reagan says that Republicans are on the verge of winning the 2016 Presidential election in a landslide, possibly even seeing as many as 47 states turn red.

According to The Hill:

“Supply-side economist Arthur Laffer is predicting Republicans will win the White House in a landslide this year, regardless of the nominee.

“I would be surprised if the Republicans don’t take 45, 46, 47 states out of the 50,” Laffer told host John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable” on New York’s AM-970 on Sunday.  “I mean, I think we’re going to landslide this election.”

Laffer, who served in various positions in the Nixon, Ford and Reagan administrations, said he is bullish on the entire Republican primary field.

“When I look at these candidates, I don’t see one of them who wouldn’t do a great job as president,” he said.”

  1. Laffer is a great economist, but I am not so sure about his political science credentials. He works the way many anti-Democrats do…on wishful thinking. The problem is that the American public is short on memory and information. I have few credentials to refute Laffer and that is not my intention, anyway. However, all candidates are not the same and if Hillary is to be defeated, it will come about for two reasons: 1) Hillary is indicted, which is a real possibility; and/or, 2) Trump is NOT the Republican candidate.

    • Mr. Laffer, PROVED his capabilities when he worked with & for President Ronald Reagan & in less than two (2) years restored our country’s economic
fiasco DOWNSIDE by ELIMINATING the Keneynisian Carter’s government’s deficit spending intervention..Just as Obama’s ..KENYANISIAN ( Jarret ) administration began in their agenda.. Art knows what WORKS… & I believe we CAN restore those times AGAIN..With CRUZ…NOT Trump !!

  2. let’s not get cocky. the Repubs have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory before, and are very capable of doing so again. somehow, we need to get everybody behind our candidate instead of sniping and tearing each other down.

  3. Cruz is just another sellout to Wall Street big banks and big oil in TX! He will sell all of us to the highest bid!

  4. I like Christie, Rubio and Carson a LOT better than either Trump or Cruz….and they all consistently beat Hillary handily. Trump and Cruz, not so much. I don’t relish the horrible “unfavorable” numbers of Trump (which means hordes will trudge to the polls just to vote AGAINST HIM — ptomaine is preferable to them), or championing someone who is intensely disliked by almost everyone, esp. those in his own party and workplace. You can’t be disliked by that many people — those who know you and those who don’t — and get elected dogcatcher.

Why on earth aren’t we championing more electable people — all of whom would make terrific presidents, all of whom would dismantle Obamaeverything, and all of whom would have Republican coattails that would help ensure we could keep control of Congress. That’s as important as winning the presidency.
