Speaking to cheering supporters inside the vast auditorium of an Oakland convention center, Kennedy spent several minutes teasing his choice, speaking about Shanahan without naming her.

“I wanted a vice president who shared my passion for wholesome, healthy foods, chemical-free; for regenerative agriculture; for good soils,” the former environmental lawyer said. “And I found exactly the right person.”

“Pro-Palestinian protesters repeatedly interrupted President Joe Biden’s fundraiser featuring former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton Thursday night — underscoring a serious electoral challenge for the incumbent Democrat even as he raked in $26 million.

The frequent protests — including shouts of “blood on your hands” — drew flashes of frustration from the former presidents on stage as Biden faces intensifying domestic fallout from the Israel-Hamas war.

“You can’t just talk and not listen. That’s what the other side does,” Obama said, according to pooled reporters in the room.

Clinton used the protests to push for Biden’s re-election, arguing that Biden cares about Palestinians’ self-determination and establishing a two-state solution. Obama, too, said Biden had the moral clarity to lead during this conflict.”

5. Ronna Romney Fired By NBC After Just One Interview

Former RNC Chair Ronna Romney was fired by NBC News after just one interview on “Meet The Press.”

According to The Hill:

NBC is facing heavy criticism from the right for terminating a deal to add former Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel as a contributor.

McDaniel’s abrupt exit followed vocal protests from some of the network’s most prominent on-air hosts, who took issue with her past rhetoric on the 2020 election and the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Former President Trump, who has had his own up-and-down relationship with McDaniel, was among the Republicans criticizing NBC.

“Wow! Ronna McDaniel got fired by Fake News NBC. She only lasted two days, and this after McDaniel went out of her way to say what they wanted to hear,” Trump wrote Tuesday on his Truth Social website.

4. Feds Raid Diddy Over Alleged Sex Trafficking Operation

Federal agents raided rapper Diddy’s home this week in an alleged sex trafficking investigation.

After federal agents raided the rapper’s multi-million dollar homes in Miami and Los Angeles on March 25, sources with knowledge told NBC News March 26 that firearms were found at both properties. Additionally, Homeland Security Investigations seized Combs’ phones in Miami before he was scheduled to depart for a trip to the Bahamas.

While the investigation is ongoing, a source close to the investigation told NBC News that the raid was connected to allegations of sex-trafficking and sexual assault and the solicitation and distribution of illegal narcotics and firearms. Three women and one man had been interviewed by federal officials in Manhattan in relation to the investigation, the source shared.

In a March 25 statement to E! News, a rep for Homeland Security Investigations said that they had “executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation” and would “provide further information as it becomes available.”

3. President Trump Attends Murdered Cop’s Funeral

As Biden, Obama, and Clinton raised money for Biden’s re-election, President Trump attended the funeral for a slain New York City cop just a couple miles away.

According to NBC News:

Diller was shot and killed Monday in Queens after he approached an illegally parked vehicle.

Trump called the suspect a “thug” and said that he and the driver of the vehicle had prior arrest records.

“They don’t learn because they don’t respect,” Trump said. “They’re not given the respect. … Police are the greatest people we have. There’s nothing and there’s nobody like ’em.”

2. Francis Scott Key Bridge In Baltimore Collapses After Being Hit By Ship

The Francis Scott Key Bridge, one of the most important arteries on the East Coast for hazardous materials, was struck by a ship earlier this week and collapsed after losing power. Some have speculated it was a cyber attack.

According to The AP:

“A cargo ship rammed into Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge, causing the span to collapse and presumably killing six construction workers. On Wednesday, a day after the early-morning crash, officials with the National Transportation Safety Board boarded the ship and planned to recover information from its electronics and paperwork while divers searched for the bodies of workers who were still missing.

The operators of the Dali cargo ship issued a mayday call moments before the crash early Tuesday saying the vessel had lost power. But the 985-foot-long (300-meter-long) ship still struck one of the 1.6-mile (2.6-kilometer) bridge’s supports at 8 knots, which is roughly 9 mph (15 kph). That caused the span to break and fall into the water within seconds.

Eight construction workers were filling potholes on the bridge when the crash happened. Two were rescued soon after the collapse. Divers recovered the bodies of two others and the other four are presumed dead. Jeffrey Pritzker, executive vice president of Brawner Builders, said they were working in the middle of the span when it collapsed.
