Darryl Glenn Will Speak At Republican National Convention In Cleveland

Donald Trump wants Colorado Republican Senate candidate Darryl Glenn to speak next week at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

The major announcement comes as the black Air Force Vet works to beat an incumbent Dem in what may prove to be the GOP’s best chance at picking up a Senate seat in 2016.

Glenn is not known nationally, but that will probably change after Cleveland. Glenn is a talented speaker with an impressive ability to deliver his message and is immensely popular in conservative circles…

According to the Denver Post:

“Colorado U.S. Senate candidate Darryl Glenn is about to go big time. The little-known El Paso County commissioner received a coveted speaking slot at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, the organizers announced Thursday.

The topic of the speech and which day he will address the convention is still unclear. But Glenn is known for giving a good speech. His ability to connect from the stage allowed him to dominate the state Republican Party convention and emerge with a surprising runaway victory in a field of 10 candidates. The good favor continued through the June 28 primary in which he took 38 percent of the vote to win a five-way race.

Even with his wins, Glenn is not a household name outside the Colorado Springs area, and the speech will give him the chance to reach a national audience and boost his bid to defeat U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet, who is considered the most vulnerable Democratic incumbent senator in the nation this cycle…

The National Republican Senatorial Committee is ignoring him, declining to even congratulate him on his primary victory after Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell suggested he is too far-right to win in November.”
