Breaking tonight: Obama says he won’t sign a law implementing tougher rules for Syrian refugees, he’ll veto it!
According to Politico:
“The White House announced that it will veto a Republican bill intended to toughen the screening process for resettling Syrian refugees in the United States.
The bill, authored by Reps. Mike McCaul (R-Texas) and Richard Hudson (R-N.C.), “is untenable and would provide no meaningful additional security for the American people, instead serving only to create significant delays and obstacles in the fulfillment of a vital program that satisfies both humanitarian and national security objectives,” the White House said in a statement of administration policy. The measure is set for a vote in the House on Thursday.”
