States Arm Guard in Wake of TN Shootings

In response to what may be deemed a terror-related attack on two military recruiting centers in Tennessee last week, at least six states have stepped up their security measures.

Governors for Florida, Indiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Texas ordered National Guard members to arm themselves and be prepared for potential copycat attacks by Islamist sympathizers.

The incidents in Chattanooga last week exposed the serious vulnerabilities for military assets that lie outside strategic bases where security is much higher.

Recruiting centers most often are located within shopping malls or retail locations, and personnel who man these installations are not allowed to carry weapons.
