A government watchdog has tallied what the President’s Christmas vacation in Hawaii cost American taxpayers. A FOIA request to the Department of the Air Force shows President Obama and his family spent $3,672,798 on flight expenses alone via Air Force One.
Judicial Watch revealed a raft of details about the Obamas’ vacation expenditures since the president’s time in the White House that are sure to be gasoline on the fire of criticism over an imperial presidency gone wild.
According to the report, the first family’s multiple Hawaii vacations in his second term alone have cost taxpayers more than $15.5 million just in travel. All told, the Obamas have taken seven vacations to the Aloha state since his inauguration in 2009.
The Washington Examiner previously reported on the subject. They found that the Obamas have enjoyed 38 total vacations since his inauguration with a projections of as many as 45 before the president leaves the White House in January of 2017.
