A man traveled from California to Las Vegas to kill Donald Trump last weekend, reports say,

According to The Daily Beast:

“Michael Steven Sandford was arrested at a Donald Trump rally in Las Vegas after he allegedly attempted to grab a police officer’s gun, and according to a federal agent, use it to kill the presumptive Republican nominee. Special Agent Swierkowski, named in a complaint in a U.S. District Court in Nevada, said Sandford told officers he drove from California to kill Trump. He also allegedly practiced shooting in Las Vegas the day before, Swierkowski added. Sandford allegedly had a UK driver’s license. “

According to local reports:

“Las Vegas Metro police said a 19-year-old male attempted to disarm a police officer at a rally hosted by Donald Trump Saturday.

According to police, Michael Sandford, 19, approached a uniformed officer, and began a conversation under the pretense that he was seeking an autograph. During the conversation, Sandford attempted to disarm the officer. Officers were able to take Sandford into custody without further disruption to the event.

Custody of Sandford was handed over to the United States Secret Service, where he will face formal charges.”
