Breaking: Police Launch Manhunt For Multiple Suspects After Mass Shooting Rampage Near Los Angeles

Second Update: The FBI says they are moving toward the possibility of terrorism in the shooting near LA. Two suspects-one male and one female-are dead after a shootout with police… The shootout began near San Bernardino and eventually came into the city as the suspects tossed bombs and fired assault rifles at police… A third suspect was seen fleeing the scene and has been detained.

First update: Multiple suspects are down-one dead, the status of another is unknown. A third may be at large. CNN reports that the suspects threw pipe bombs at police during a chase, which multiple experts said is a tactic from the Middle East.

San Bernardino Police confirm at least two shooters were involved in a mass shooting rampage at a mental health facility just east of Los Angeles. Though the number is unknown, multiple people have been killed and wounded.

Witnesses say they were armed with long rifles, dressed in military gear, and escaped in a black SUV…

The incident occurred at a mental health facility, but the area targeted is reportedly used to rent to outside parties. County employees were reportedly holding an event there at the time.

They may have also left a bomb…

According to KTLA:

“There were initial reports of at least 20 victims down amid an active shooter incident at a center for people with developmental disabilities in San Bernardino late Wednesday morning, according to a police official.

The call first came in at 10:59 a.m. of multiple shots fired from the area of 1365 S. Waterman Ave., San Bernardino Police Department Lt. Richard Lawhead said. The department’s SWAT team was training nearby and was suited, “ready to roll” and responded rapidly, Lawhead said.

There were reports of at least 20 victims, Lawhead initially told KTLA. In a separate interview, the lieutenant confirmed there were multiple victims.

He added the extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

According to a tweet from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, there were possibly one to three shooters.

Witnesses told police that they saw three men with long rifles get into a black SUV and exit the parking lot, CNN reported, citing a law enforcement source.”
