Jobs Report: Lowest Unemployment in 17 Years, 261,000 Jobs Added

Much of America is back to work after job losses due to Hurricanes Irma and Harvey (and despite which, gross domestic product increased by 3% in the third quarter).

Bloomberg reports this morning: “U.S. employers added the most workers in a year, rebounding from September’s slowdown, as people resumed work after hurricanes Harvey and Irma, Labor Department figures showed Friday. The jobless rate fell to the lowest since 2000 while wages stalled.” New jobs from October total about 261,000, and unemployment in America stands at 4.1%.
