2016 GOP Presidential hopeful Donald Trump has released his plan to improve healthcare for the nation’s veterans.

According to Breitbart:

“Trump released a plan on Saturday detailing how he would change the current VA system. Some of its specifics included:

  1. All veterans eligible for VA health care would be able to bring their veteran’s ID card to any doctor or care facility that accepts Medicare to get the care they need immediately.
  2. Funding would be increased for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury and suicide prevention services.
  3. Funding would be increased for job training and placement services, educational support and business loans.
  4. Equipping every VA hospital in the country with OBGYN and other women’s health services, while permitting women veterans to choose a different OBGYN in their community using their veteran’s ID card.
  5. Firing the corrupt and incompetent VA executives.
  6. Accelerating and expanding investments in state of the art technology to deliver best-in-class care quickly and effectively.
  7. Hiring more veterans to care for veterans.
  8. Embedding satellite VA clinics in rural and other underserved areas to ensure veterans have easy access to care.”

  1. What does Donald Trump know about fixing health care on any level? He does a lot of talking but has not really said how he plans to go forward to fix anything. There was time where I think I heard him say (paraphrasing) ” I learn it when I get there”. He just likes to hear himself talk and criticize others. Just like a little kid throwing a temper tantrum. “no” I’ve never met him but you can tell a lot about people by their mannerism and their fruits—I don’t meant how many dollars they have either.

    • prettygirl1967 … Yes that is what he said. He said he would learn it when he gets there. I thinking …. NO … I want you to know it before you get there.

      • Trump does not know what he is talking about, it sounds good, if he could do what he is saying he will do, but he can’t do what he I saying.
Congress would have to pass it to take the healthcare out of the VA’s hands to let the veterans use their card and go anywhere that takes
Medicare. I could only dream. As a veteran to be able to do that would be awesome. But Congress cant even get the VA to do what they are telling them to already do.

        • My reaction is that at least he has a plan which is more than the president has to offer. Using some sort of voucher so a vet can get care at the best or closest site, whether VA or not, sounds practical. It would take years and billions to bring all the VA facilities up to par, so why should our vets have to suffer when help is readily available in the private sector? If we can treat all the illegals for free, we sure as heck should put our vets in front of the line. I don’t care where the idea comes from, I just know that when we get new leadership in the WhiteHouse, things can and will get better.

          • Nancy, as a vet who has been dealing with the
VA system for 40 years, yes that sounds like a dream come true, I would love to be able to do that. But what proposes to do is not as simple as he makes it sound. Having dealt with the VA for 40 years, I know how they work. A person, not just Trump, but anybody can stand there and say they will do something all day long, but just because they say they will do something, does not mean they can. One has to know if that person can even actually do what they say. It is not going to make any difference who becomes President, they will not be able to change the current system with out congress and congress is not making the VA do what they told them to do and until they make them do it and hold their feet to the floor, nothing is going to change. So weather it is Trump or somebody else, when they say they are going to do something, saying it and being able to do it or two different things. Part of
Trumps plan to do certain things are already being done. One of the things he said he would do is to put out patient clinics to treat vets. We already have out patient clinics. We also already have a program to let certain vets who live a certain distance from their facility, go to outside doctors where they live. It is called a Choice Card. Congress passed it last year. I have been using it .

          • I understand your frustration. Congress has been useless in many areas. I hope Ryan will at least challenge the president rather than rolling over and playing dead until some future election. I don’t like Trump’s abrasiveness but we do need someone strong and capable of being honest with the people. That rules out Ms Hillary. Well, keep the pressure on and shame them into doing their job.
Best of luck to you and, it sounds like a cliche, but I sincerely thank you for your service.

          • Nancy, I agree and too hope that Ryan can get them to agree and get things done.

        • I did not vote for Obama and tried my very best to educate people about him before the election. Needless to say they didn’t listen and therefore we re all suffering the consequsense of their decisions.

  2. So many SOCIALIST’S comments! There is NO ONE who ‘knows it all’ before becoming POTUS – that’s why they have Staffs of EXPERTS in ALL areas.
