10 Ben Carson Quotes You Need To See

As Dr. Ben Carson celebrates a record fundraising cycle, top-tier status in the 2016 GOP Presidential race, and continually improving poll numbers, here are 10 quotes from the former Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins.

Carson’s statements show a deeply thoughtful and smart individual who cares immensely for his fellow human beings.

1. “I detest politics, to be honest with you. It’s a cesspool. And I don’t think I would fare well in that cesspool because I don’t believe in political correctness and I certainly don’t believe in dishonesty.”

2. “We need to understand that we are not each others’ enemies in this country. And it is only the political class that derives its power by creating friction. It is only the media that derives its importance by creating friction… that uses every little thing to create this chasm between people. This is not who we are.”

3. “I was asked by an NPR reporter once why don’t I talk about race that often. I said, ‘It’s because I’m a neurosurgeon.’ And she thought that was a strange response… I said, ‘You see, when I take someone to the operating room, I’m actually operating on the thing that makes them who they are. The skin doesn’t make them who they are.’

4. “There is a tendency of people to try to make you believe only a few people are smart. As a brain surgeon, I know better than that.”

5. “But, you know, we have these entrenched entities – and I’m talking about both Republicans and Democrats – who believe that when you’re elected to office, you become some kind of member of the aristocracy, and that anyone who challenges you is attacking you and is unpatriotic. This is foolishness.”

6. “You can understand why I’m a believer. I have seen miracles.”

7. “Success is determined not by whether or not you face obstacles, but by your reaction to them. And if you look at these obstacles as a containing fence, they become your excuse for failure. If you look at them as a hurdle, each one strengthens you for the next.”

8. “Everyone in the world is worth being nice to. Because God never creates inferior human beings, each person deserves respect and dignity.”

9. “Tell the truth. If you tell the truth all the time you don’t have to worry three months down the line about what you said three months earlier. Truth is always the truth. You won’t have to complicate your life by trying to cover up.”

10. “Many well-meaning Americans have bought into the PC speech code, thinking that by being extra careful not to offend anyone we will achieve unity. What they fail to realize is that this is a false unity that prevents us from talking about important issues and is a Far Left strategy to paralyze us while they change our nation. People have been led to become so sensitive that fault can be found in almost anything anyone says because somewhere, somehow, someone will be offended by it.”

  1. I love his wisdom! So refreshing! God bless you, continue giving you wisdom, knowledge and understanding! You are what America should be!

  2. he is right -The truth is evident. If Ben is for our country and not the whole world, I like him so very much. Truth and common sense and can save our country. The way things are right now, there is no common sense with what is happening with trade, outstretched programs lining politicians pockets, importing that is taking away our jobs and leaving our people without jobs, government control and laziness combined with lack of service, no regard for the hard working tax overburdened citizens, letting manufacturing move out of the country, forcing us to buy crops from Mexico, making it difficult for our farmers cant compete. Right now our government is giving our country away, to me our politicians are criminal and treasonous and stabbing us Americans in the back. Our politicians are allowing our country to be a Sitting Duck.
Any way, Ben Carson sounds like a great individual. He sounds like he will do the Right thing for the country, and color doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters about the color of skin is that it is all magnificent and beautiful.

  3. I’m really worried about the sites and posts outside of this one that condemn Dr. Carson for saying “crazy” things. It’s crazy to say modern day Americans should be grateful to be here, regardless of how their ancestors came here? It’s crazy to say that disarming a nation by force is akin to Nazi Germany? It’s crazy to say that he hates politics because it is a cesspool of dishonesty and that he wouldn’t fair well in it? Washington was a soldier, not a politician, and he was unanimously elected by ONE party; the Americans. He warned of PC and divisiveness and bipartisan tactics and nobody called him crazy back then…..
It really worries me that there are people out there that think that truth, logic and unity are crazy ideas. Talk about domestic terrorists…
