Walker Begins Building Team

Newly re-elected Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker answered some of the speculation concerning whether he might join the growing field of GOP presidential contenders after quietly bringing on a key campaign staffer this week.

Rick Wiley, former RNC Political Director and presidential campaign veteran, was tapped by Walker to join his operation in Madison, a move which clearly hints at national plans.

According to reports, Wiley has already begun reaching out to potential campaign staffers in what is being seen as the beginning of a national campaign operation ahead of Republican Winter meetings in San Diego next week. An unnamed source close to Walker commented:

“The governor is definitely committed to putting a great team around him,” but that he will not announce anything prior to the end of the Wisconsin legislative session.
